Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Technology
Available at Staffordshire University (from 1st September 2008)
Project 2: Ref: VC-CTA 230508
The project is based at a voice solutions company based at Wexham, Buckinghamshire, and is concerned with developing a tool to automatically generate test scenarios and data sets to enable test engineers to quickly and efficiently test speech recognition based interactive voice response (IVR) services delivered by telephone. The project does not require any knowledge of speech recognition per-se, but does require some knowledge of AI and, in particular, graph traversal algorithms, specification languages, and constraint satisfaction. It is envisaged that Object Constraint Language (OCL) will be used as the specification language - but this choice needs to be validated as part of the work. All implementation shall be in Java 6 and (where appropriate) the GUI shall be in Java Swing or Eclipse/SWT.
The candidate will be expected to register for a Master by Research (MRes) with the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Technology at Staffordshire University, and will be based at the company‘s office.
